The Human Impact of Our Choices

Choices have consequences. The bigger the decision, the more damage it can cause. How often do we consider that? Two people said something I want to put in your mind when you consider something.

G.K Chesterton

Don’t ever take a fence down until you know the reason it was put up.

Ask yourself, why is this here? What will happen if I remove or change it? What are the consequences? Will it be for better or for worse? What is the human impact?

Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ)

You do not examine legislation in light of the benefits it will convey if properly administered, but in light of the wrongs it would do and the harms it would cause if improperly administered.

Ask yourself, why should we do this? What is the best case scenario? The worst case scenario? How can it be twisted? What is the human impact?

When considering decisions, think about how it will affect the well-being of others before you either make them or support them. We are far too short-sighted these days.
