Honor: What is it to you?

A discussion on the Wicked Jester forum posed this question.
What does HONOR mean to you?
My answer is this:  When I speak of honor, to me it means not wavering on my personal code of integrity, objectivity, personal responsibility and to my pack at home, justice, respect to the deserving, courage and strength, submitting to no man. By being strong on my own and not leeching off of society and upholding my principles and not selling out, then to me I have honor.

  1. HONOR. The first of our Core Values as Marines.

The bedrock of the Marine Corps’ character. The quality that guides Marines to exemplify the ultimate in ethical and moral behavior; never to lie, cheat, or steal; to abide by an uncompromising code of integrity; to respect human dignity; to have respect and concern for each other. The quality of maturity, dedication, trust, and dependability that commits us to act responsibly; to be accountable for our actions.

    1. to live and die by your own personal code , to be true to your family , and yourself . To never sellout your family , friends , and yourself . to learn from your mistakes and learn from it . and to learn from others mistakes .

honor above all …. except integrity
